Sail SAF50 @ Vivocity

Today is 15th February, and marks an important day in the history of Singapore. It's the commemoration of Total Defence Day. This year we recognise the efforts of SAF in the defence of Singapore. A group of our Cadet leaders and Senior Cadet Leaders sailed on RSS Endurance from Changi Naval Base to Vivocity, to learn about the Navy and the importance of coastal defence.

Here's a snippet of what has happened during the learning journey on 11th Feb - CPL Eugene Ong

Here's the reflection from one of the Cadet Leader - CPL Troy Lai

"The navy helps to form bonds with other countries, therefore, helping the social status of Singapore; showing that peace is better than war and the navy helps to protect our waters from Intruders.

I felt that today was a good learning experience as it gave me information I would never have known, for example in the gallery, the chefs use hot plates to cook instate of using a naked fire. I would love to show my juniors around the ship, I want them to know what the Navy really is,

I want my friends to understand that controlling and maintaining a ship is not as easy as it seems, furthermore, Singapore is a small country, we are surround by water, one of our main source of money comes from trading mostly by sea so if our waters are not safe , if everyone around us is an enemy our country would fall but the Navy stops that from ever happening."

We look forward to more of such great learning experiences this year.
