The following cadets have made it through the MKE last month and qualified for Annual Kayaking Expedition (AKE) 2014. Congratulations!

2. Details of AKE

Reporting Time:  1530hrs on 2 June (Monday)
Ending Time:  1700hrs on 5 June (Thursday)
Venue: Sembawang Sea Training Centre
All cadets are required to report at Sembawang Sea Training Centre at 1530hrs on 2 June (Monday) for in processing, briefing and preparations.
The overnight rest area will be at Sembawang Camp for 2 June and on 3 June, and at Kallang Sea Training Centre on 4 June. This also includes the teacher officer accompanying their unit cadets (compulsory). This year is also the first time that AKE is conducted across all our three NCC sea training centres at Sembawang (first day), Upper Seletar (second day) and concluding the last leg at our new Kallang Sea Training Centre (third day).


3. Things to bring
i.          Student Identity Card/EZ-link (compulsory)
ii.         Clothing essentials for 3 days/3nights.
iii.        Two extra set of dry clothing, towel and toiletries (compulsory) packed in big double ziplock bag
          ** Packed in separate ziplock sealed bag :
–          1.5 litre mineral water bottle (adhere strictly to 1.5litre for standardization)
–          Sun block
–          Bailer
–          Energy Bar, Energy gel (optional)
iv.        Towel (compulsory)
v.         Medications (sea-sick pills, Panadol, if necessary)
vi.        Sunblock Lotion (compulsory)
vii.       Sunglasses (UV protected)
viii.      Cap (compulsory)
ix.        Water Bottle (min. 1.5L, compulsory)
x.         Gloves
xi.        Wet-PT/Track Shoes / Booties (compulsory for the AKE expedition) and strictly NO sandals/slippers/worn-out, broken shoes
xii.       Track Shoe (compulsory)
xiii.      Overnight Packs  (compulsory) - each pack consists of 1set of dry clothing, powder, personal toiletries, towel
xiv.       Sponge (large)
xv.        Bailer (empty plastic bottle without cap, compulsory for bailing water from their own kayaks) (compulsory)
xvi.       Personal thermometer (compulsory)
xvii.      Mosquito repellent (rub-on or spray-on)
xviii.     Plastic Mug with handle
xix.       Sleeping Bag (compulsory)
xx.        Whistle (compulsory)


4. Reminders
·                     Participants are advised not to bring valuables (e.g. Excessive money,jewellery, etc) and expensive items to the training/camp. HQ NCC will not be responsible for any losses or damages to personal belongings and valuables.
·                     Cadets are permitted to bring camera handphones for the purpose of communicating with their parents etc but photo taking within the compound is strictly prohibited

Those cadets who fail to comply and adhere to the instructions/things to bring will not be allowed to attend the AKE

Specialist Course (NMI Module)

Dear Cadet Leaders,

This is a reminder that your Specialist Courses (NMI Modules) will be held next week.

Date: 26 (Mon) and 27 (Tue) May
Reporting Time: 0715
Reporting Venue: Tanah Merah MRT Bus Bay
Attire: NCC (Sea) No.3 Uniform
Bring: Writing materials, Student pass, rope of 1.5 m, paper cutter, masking tape and Sea Manual

Be reminded that this is a personal commitment as a NCC Cadet.
Rations will be provided.
Strictly no camera handphones to be brought.
Make sure that your attire and bearing is up to standard.
